Vol. 3 No. 2 (2024): Winter
We welcome you to the 6th Issue of the Australian Pharmacy Students' Journal (APSJ): "Connecting Students to the Profession"
Connection. A simple word that holds a deeper meaning in today’s pharmacy world. Connecting pharmacy students is not only about creating networks, but about being part of a community driven by shared goals and aspirations. The theme of this issue ‘Connecting Pharmacy Students to the Profession’ encompasses this idea.
As students, we are connected with our peers, professors and mentors. This network goes beyond university classes, where we connect with pharmacists, pharmacy organisations and the wider professional community. As future pharmacists and healthcare professionals, it is important we recognise the significance of connecting with other healthcare bodies, in order to deliver optimum patient-centered care. As students, the connections we forge not only enriches our education but also shapes our future practice. It is important to note, the earlier you build connections within the profession, the greater your support network will be. Engaging with pharmacists and professionals during conferences, networking events and education sessions will help build the foundation of your future career. It can be an intimidating journey to start, but it is a daily adventure filled with opportunities and the potential for growth. This issue is the embodiment of student connections and we welcome you to take part of it.
In this issue, we are proud to present 13 pieces, including 2 editorials, 3 feature articles, 1 original research article, 3 opinion pieces and 4 letters.
