New 8th Issue Released With Winners, Next $300 Prize Announced

10.08.2026

The APSJ is proud to announce the release of its new Anniversary-edition Winter issue, "Spark - Celebrating Beginnings and New Ideas".  This issue marks a special milestone for the Australian Pharmacy Students’ Journal as we celebrate NAPSA’s 80th anniversary. The articles within reflect the curiosity, ambition and fresh thinking that continue to shape the future of pharmacy.

Included in the issue are the three Opinion Piece Competition winning articles (by A. Egan, T. Lupoi & E. Bria, and N. Karim & A. Xydias) and the winning article of the APSJ’s first-ever $300 Best Paper Award (by J. Benedict).

The issue can be read on the APSJ website, here.

The APSJ is now recruiting submissions for its next, 9th issue, with the $300 Best Paper Award competition for the 9th issue now running.

To enter, authors must submit an original research paper of their research project to the APSJ (via the APSJ website here). Research projects can include Honours, capstone, placement, intern and curricular research assignment projects.

The final paper must be formatted according to the APSJ’s author guidelines to be eligible to enter the competition. All papers will go through screening against the author guidelines and a peer review process.

The most outstanding entry wins a AUD $300 Prezee voucher, publication in the APSJ and a limited edition hard copy of the APSJ issue with their article published in it, and the front cover artwork of the APSJ issue will be directly inspired by their paper.

In addition, all students who do not win the $300 Prize but whose paper still meets the criteria for publication will still be published in the APSJ and will likewise receive a limited edition hard copy of the APSJ issue with their article published in it. Thus, all students can benefit from submitting their paper even if they do not win.

Students must submit their paper to the APSJ via the APSJ website (here) by 31st September to be eligible for the Prize. All original research submissions received before 31st September will automatically be considered for the Prize. Submissions received after this date may still be published but will not be considered for the Prize.

Any student or intern who has completed a research project is encouraged to submit a paper of their research to make the most of this opportunity and be published.

Having a research publication is extremely valuable for students interested in curating competitive internship, scholarship, employment and special/leadership/high-achiever award applications. Students can cite their publication experience on their resume and on their AdPha ANZCAP Portfolios.

The APSJ accepts original student-led research across the fields of pharmacy practice, pharmacy education, pharmacology and pharmaceutical science.

Students can submit their research paper to the APSJ via the journal’s website, here.
